Optional Extension: For those eager to experience both locations, there’s an option to extend the tour by one hour.

With origins that predate the founding of Rome, Tivoli is steeped in legend and history. Its picturesque location made it a favoured retreat for emperors, patricians, and noble families seeking respite in the beautiful Roman countryside.

Hadrian’s Villa: If ancient Roman history intrigues you, Hadrian's Villa is must-see. Commissioned by Emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century AD, this vast complex spans around 300 acres and showcases architectural influences from Egypt, Greece, and Rome. The villa features impressive baths, temples, theatres, gardens, and fountains, reflecting Hadrian’s travels and inspirations. Today, it stands as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Villa d’Este: For fans of Renaissance architecture and gardens, Villa d’Este is unparalleled. Designed by Cardinal Ippolito d’Este in the mid-16th century, the villa’s expansive gardens are renowned for their stunning fountains, each with its unique design and function. The project involved ingenious engineering, including the diversion of the Aniene River to power the fountains. Inside the villa, you can admire beautifully restored rooms adorned with vibrant frescoes created by various Mannerist artists. Villa d’Este, also a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers a magical experience that transports visitors to a “garden of wonders.”

The tour lasts approximately 5 hours. Entrance fees to Hadrian's Villa and Villa d'Este are not included. A private guide can be added upon request for an additional fee, enhancing your exploration with expert insights.

Immerse yourself in the enchanting history and beauty of Tivoli on this memorable private tour! This experience is perfect for those seeking to enrich their Rome tour package with a delightful day trip.
